Nearest point of land contours at intervals of 5 nautical miles extending to the 200 nautical mile/nearest point of land boundary recognized by the CBRC. Because of the interplay between the Channel Islands, Islas Los Coronados, and Isla Guadalupe, the review area’s southern boundary extends well south of anywhere on the California mainland. All along the coast, note the importance of islands and major promontories in determining the nearest points of land.
